Academic guidance
Ask who can help with course choices, requirements and learning support.
Student life at MTI is about more than the workshop: it is a chance to develop practical ability, personal responsibility and a spirit of service.

MTI is based in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu. Students take part in vocational learning and the Institute’s wider programme of character formation.
The Institute’s student experience includes cadet activities described in its supplied draft content, including foot drill, leadership, navigation, survival and field camping. Contact MTI to confirm the current schedule and participation requirements.
The student dormitory was completed in 2018 through a Government of Japan Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) grant of USD $87,831. It was named for Bro. Joseph Kottoor, MTI’s first principal.
The Embassy of Japan reported that the hostel was intended to help increase opportunities for young people from the outer islands. Contact MTI to ask about current availability, eligibility, costs and arrangements.
